About this Collection
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) funding for ESSEA is primarily addressing NOAA's Education Goal 1: promote environmental literacy by increasing understanding and use of NOAA data, information and programs. To meet this goal, IGES is developing new ESSEA modules for K-12 teachers that focus on NOAA ocean and climate science and data.
The NOAA ESSEA modules are designed for teachers who are taking ESSEA courses. Teachers can also use the NOAA ESSEA course modules with their students. Print them out, or have your students read them online. They have situations, connections to the standards, resources and sample investigations. Unless a module is labeled K-4, you can adapt it for middle and high school students.
