Teacher Action Research

Under development- coming summer 2007

The ESSEA courses ask teachers to question their beliefs about teaching and learning, and to experience alternative teaching strategies. These strategies address inquiry, placing more responsibility on students to become active participants in the teaching process. A teachers action research course will provide the framework for teachers to operate in a safe learning community where she or he can take risks and reflect on how inquiry works in a classroom. This course addresses this need, providing teachers the opportunity to change teaching practices within a safe, structured environment.
